I have been hearing so much about this diet and I think I want to try it! I am not sure, b/c I know once you start a new diet you have to spend so much money on the foods to get started. I am a little skeptical about this diet, hoping that this is not one of the "quick fixes" that everyone offers. Once I start eating out of the pattern, will I gain all of the weight back that I lost on the diet???

Please let me know of your experiences with this diet; the good and the bad.

And I am also a Pescatarian, do they cater to us also?

Thanks!

I've never tried it, nor do I want to. But I would imagine that's 17 days of missing out on food you like that you can never get back

Well, I am on it, but you could think of it as more of a healthy lifestyle than fad diet. Limit carbs, limit sugar and no processed foods. It has 4 cycles every 17 days. It eventually adds more carbs and other foods back into it. Then on last cycle you can eat in moderation what you want on weekends. You should get book and read it to see if it is for you. This is healthiest form of diet I have ever tried. Because it is supposed to be a lifestyle. Doesnt require any special foods, just healthy foods. Look on forums, there are many 17dd threads.

My mom did it and lost 30 pounds in a very healthy way. I would agree read the book and see if it is for you. I read the book and I lost when I was following it, but fell back into bad habits. Here I am back on track now. :- ) Best of luck to you.

I"m on it. It is not a fad diet it just teaches you the right way to eat. The first 17 days are the strictest then you are allowed to eat more as you go on. For the first 17 days you basically just stick to fruits, veggies, lean meats, and dairy. I have never been hungry on it compared to other diets where you are starving all the time. I have started it before then went off of it and I have never gained any of the weight back, although that doesn't mean that it would work for everyone but I haven't heard of anyone that has. My boyfriend usually complains when I am on a diet since that means he has to eat healthy all the time too but with this diet he doens't even notice he is eating healthy. He even told me tonight after dinner that the new meals I have been making are great and I should keep it up. You should get the book and learn more about it.

It is VERY fad, but I'm going to give it a shot. It's carb cutting for 17 days, and then adding back healthy carbs.
