Hello guys!

Does anybody here makes their own cereal bars?

I love them! but some of the comercial ones are way to sugary and processed, I want to try and make some cause I like how handy they are some times when I'm on the go.

Any recipes you recomend me?

Thanks in advance!

Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Fresh Market, or any local health food store will have it.

I just bought some at Walmart...who knew?
  • Ingredients

    1/4 c. honey
1/4 c. all natural peanut butter (chunky or regular)
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 1/4 c. traditional rolled oats
    1/4 c. dried cranberries
1/4 c. raisins or chocolate chips (depends on how decadent you want them to be)
    2 tbsp. raw sunflower seeds
    2 tbsp. slivered almonds
    2 tbsp. pumpkin seeds

    Directions

Measure peanut butter, honey, and vanilla into microwave safe measuring cup.
Melt 45 seconds on high, stir.
Mix remaining ingredients in a separate bowl. Stir peanut butter mixture into dry ingredients. Stir to combine. Press into nongreased 8 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10- 15 minutes or until light golden brown.

    Number of Servings: 16

**you can sub maple syrup for honey for a different taste. walnuts/pecans for almonds. almond extract for vanilla.

I made my own for a few weeks, but I don't think you can really make a healthy muesli bar, despite their healthy reputation. There's just too much sugar required to stick everything together into a bar. You may be best trying out savoury crackers and cookies/biscuits.

This one I found in the app. Fooducate and is a recipe by Lisa Cain:
It is unprocessed and no suggars added!, basically just fruit and nuts stuck together by banana and nut butter. Let see how they taste.

    Cereal Bar recipe

    (makes 12 or 24)

    1/2 cup nut butter
    2 bananas mashed
1/2 cup of your favorite whole nuts
1 1/2 cup of dried fruits
    1 cup of rolled oats
    1 tsp vanilla
    pinch of cinammon
1/4 cup of pupmpkin or sunflower seeds (optional)

    Preheat oven to 350 F.
In a food processor coarsely chop nuts and dried fruits.
Mix nut butter and bananas intil a paste forms. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix.
Spoon into lightly greased muffin cups and bake for 15 minutes.
Can be strored in the fridge for 5 days
