Lessons Learned

Hubby got up early today so that we could go for a family bike ride before I had to go to work. So he hooked up the bike trailer to his bike and we put Sweet Pea in (her first ride) and off we went.
We only planned on going around the block but it was so much fun riding and talking to him made me feel like it wasn't so hard so we kept riding.. he somehow convinced me to ride up to the bike trail with him. I kept saying "I can't do it.. it's too hard.. the hills are too big" and he would say "Yes you can!... let's go"
So we went.. we rode and rode and I got up all the little hills.. then we got to the bigger hills and my inner fat person (yeah I have an inner fat person to go along with my outer fat person lol) started up again "I can't do this... the hill is too big.. I'm too fat to ride a bike.. what am I doing out here".. up ahead my husband stopped and looked back he said "you're almost there honey.. you are doing a good job" and I mustered all I could and got my legs moving again all the while looking up at him and the baby trying my best to get to them and guess what? I did it.. I got up the hill and then I coasted all the way down yelling "WHEEEEEEEEEE" feeling the wind in my face and feeling so good about my determination.
While on my ride I learned three very valuable lessons.
1. I can do ANYTHING that I set my mind to as long as I have God behind me and my husband beside me cheering me on.
2. Coasting down hills yelling "WHEEEEE!" is a lot of fun... but don't forget thatthe more fun a hill is to go down.. the harder is it to get back up.
and finally
3. Never underestimate the power of a bug hitting you in your forehead at 20 miles per hour! OUCH!!!
