my stomach has been looking bloated for the last couple of days and i was wondering if it could be because i consume alot of carbs? alot of my carbs come from fuits, veggies, and nut but at night i eat yogurt mixed with ff cool whip and quick oats almost every night and that is about 50 carbs. is this something i should not be eating on a daily basis or at night? i eat it around 7:30 because i do not eat after 8 and this keeps me full. should i worry about the carbs from fuits and veggies? any other suggestions? i have tried to keep my carbs low but it is very hard for me. I consume well over my goals for protein and fiber everyday but my carbs are always high if not a little over. i eat an apple everyday and that right there is 26 carbs.

For me, I don't eat anything like oats or granola after lunch and finds that helps me a lot! I felt bloated too and it made sense since when I ate it for dinner, it would swell.
  • are you drinking protein shakes? i find when i drink protein shakes it makes me very bloated..hmm what else could it be..if you are eating alot of veggies maybe your tummy is full of water.. good bloat!

A lot of vegetables, fruits, and nuts can be irritating, especially for people with IBS. Grains and unaged/uncultured dairy are the biggest ones. Here is a good list:

I don't know about the bloating issue, but do not and never have followed the "low carb" thing - fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc serve a purpose as a part of a well-balanced, nutritious diet (I refer to diet only as what you eat in a day, not as in "I'm on a diet") - and, since I've shed well over 100 pounds and cut my body fat by over 30%, it obviously didn't inhibit weight loss.

That being said, I also consume a lot of fiber (women under 50 should aim for at least 25 grams/day according to the Mayo Clinic). I regularly consume 40+ grams, but when I go over 50, my tummy rebels and I get bloated and crampy.

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water - especially if you are consuming a lot of fiber.
