All of you pros on here might know how to do this and in what amounts. A customer was telling another stylist how to make oatmeal taste like no bake cookies. YUM...no bake cookies. She said he just said oatmeal, chocolate protein powder, peanut butter, extra virgin olive oil and a little milk to thin. Stupid me did not ask if this was to actually make it like the cookie or the hot cereal but taste like the cookie. May someone here knows and can help????

I think it would be oatmeal that tasted like the cookie, I cannot imagine those ingredients shaping into a cookie you can hold in your hand.

I would try a serving of oatmeal (one packet or one serving, depending on what type you use)

a half serving of protein powder (1 scoop a serving? try a half scoop- the taste can be a little overwhelming in some things)

1 tbs or even 0.5 tbs of peanut butter. you don't need a lot to get the flavor :)

I would personally skip the oil, I cannot imagine that taste in my oatmeal! if you want to use it, I would guess a half or a quarter tbs

the milk is a personal choice on if you like your oatmeal thick or thin. I never add any to mine :)

I have vanilla flavored protein powder... so mine wouldn't taste as good. But I have been known to add PB, banana, even eggs to my oats. Oats are so versatile and taste good with so many things!

I was not to keen on the idea of olive oil either. Thats the part that threw me off. I don't typically eat oatmeal, but thought it sounded good as I like no bake cookies...LOL
  • I can't imagine the olive oil tasting good, but I bet I'm going to try this with chocolate protein powder (one scoop), 1/2 c. oats, 1 1/2 c. almond milk, 1 TBSP peanut flour, and a 1/2 TBSP of coconut oil for tomorrow's breakfast. I hope it tastes as good as it sounds. :)

All you do is mix it all up...get spoonfuls of the mix and drop em onto a waxed paper lining a cookie sheet and put in fridge to harden...they are a very nice treat!:flowerforyou:

I would not use the olive oil but it was probably added in lieu of butter which is in the normal oatmeal instructions. You can certainly play with the amount of the add ins, but I would go light on the protein powder until you are used to it. It can change it to a weird consistency. You could add a couple of dark chocolate chips and the PB as well. I also like to add some chopped walnuts and sometimes dried cranberries. You can go wild with oatmeal, it is quite versatile.
  • No bake cookies aren't necessarily all bad, either. The recipe I use calls for 2 c. sugar, but you can reduce it to 1 c. and just add a little cooking time. Instead of using butter, I use smart balance light, and I use fat free milk. It's not a bad snack, in moderation. :) You can have the real thing, too! Just make sure you have friends over so they can help you eat them and take some of your temptation away. ;)

Funny you posted that!!! After searching my HG cookbook she has an oatmeal using a packet of 25 calorie hot cocoa mix. I did not write down the rest of the directions since I have the book. I just found adding protein powder interesting.
