nothing processed pretty much, so only lean meats, fruit and vege etc.
Things like brown rice are generally OK

Eating clean generally means cooking from scratch with minimal ingredients. Avoiding boxed, canned, and fast food. Avoiding non-food things like artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, trans fats, and the like.

BINGO! but, it can be done 100% if you are willing to devote 100%... I do this for a living as a Chef, and at home...

Eating clean usually pertains to not eating any fast food, junk foods, processed foods, etc. And consuming fresh fruits, meats, dairy, etc. At least that's how I personally view it.

Wise words. Also, make sure you wash your dishes meticulously before and after eating.
But really, clean eating means avoiding processed foods and opting for fresh and natural foods instead.

I don't know if advertising other websites is frowned upon, but I wanted to add that Alan Aragon is an absolute genius and is right on point when it comes to dispelling dietary myths and unneccessary (sp) crap that people do in an attempt to lose weight. This guy is well worth following.

I was going to start a post asking the "clean eaters" how they define what is and isn't clean. I know it works better and is better for you; just seems like there's a lot of grey area once you get beyond fruits and veggies.

Just curious-- what is everyone's take on dairy products? What is clean? The more I'm studying the whole idea/lifestyle, the more variations I'm finding. Tosca Reno says low-fat everything while another book I'm reading says full-fat because it's less processed/closer to it's natural state-- and besides we need some fat.

I fall in the full fat category. I include some dairy- I used butter, cream, half & half, and sour cream regularly. I avoid milk entirely. And I always choose dairy that comes from cows not given hormones. This is what works for me.

Oh man never thought of it as advertising, I didn't realize that it could be, but do love using him as reference because he's a stand up, respected as well as brilliant guy, so right, very well worth following, he helped change a lot of my idiocentricities I had over eating, like the whole glucose/fructose/sugar/HFCS debate etc.
