why arent these love handles going???

I have been on MFP since 27 Aug, counting calories since then & exercising since a month n 1 week. have lost 9lbs & a few inches on my upper body- mainly arms, sides & thighs. however, THESE LOVE HANDLES ARE JUST NOT MOVING. just not!!!! arghh.. not that I am demotivated but cmon..

My jeans is getting loose on thighs but hangs on these bloody love handles, I am getting into nice tops but they look pathetic while sticking out on these love handles. If only they were to go.

I am doing Turbo Jam & love doing it. I do lower body once a week n cardio 4 days in a eek. my diet is good, eating heathy. eating back my cals on most days.

maybe I am expecting too much too soon.. but the rest of my body is showing progress.. Any specific exercises for these love handles guys????

  • Unfortunately every body stores its fat in different places. There is no such thing as 'spot' weightloss. You can only tone the muscles under fat. You'll just have to persevere unfortunately :P

    It sucks, but thats how it is. My boobs go first, my thighs last!
  • My love handles are my biggest problem area too, I seem to be losing weight from other places but not here. I'm starting to look a really wierd shape!

    I understand your frustration! I'm close to my goal weight and I still have love handles. Granted they aren't as big as they were, but still there.

    I'm 2lbs from my goal weight and I've realized my stomach will never go. I'm going to continue to try and tone but it's my own personal genetic misfortune. My lovehandles are finally in check though. What's worked for me is plank exercises. Especially a move called the reptile. Google it I just tried to type an explanation and failed miserably. Goodnight.
  • I like my love handles... They give my partner something to cuddle and make my waist look smaller.

    Was Googling reptile planks and came across this vid. I like these exercises a lot and I'm going to start adding them this week.

    I like them too.. just not when they make me look the shape of a 'bowling pin". lol..
  • ab circle pro works on love handles.........if cant get one of them the grab a stick put behind ur head wrap ur arms behind it so its locked into place and swing ur upper body in half circles ....works a treat
