I have seen many of you lose an enormous amount of weight, so i was just wondering how many of you use some kind of help...besides diet and exercise alone,,,

Replies

  • I have not supplemented with anything. I've lost 45 pounds and have done that with diet and exercise only. I still have 50-55 pounds to go though.

I did it by using a strange concept of just watching my calorie intake and exercising.

I've lost almost 50 pounds with NOTHING other than diet and exercise. Weight loss is 80% diet. If you eat crap, your body treats you like crap. I didn't need a pill to gain weight, don't need a pill to LOSE weight. :)

Unless you count a multivitamin as a supplement. (But people should be using those ANYWAY. ^-^)

I used pills years ago when I had much less to lose, but that weight came back very quickly because I didn't change my diet or exercise. This time it is ALL diet and exercise.

All exercise and diet. My real goal is to be healthy, fit, and athletic, which requires a lifestyle change, not a quick fix.

I've just been trying to do this the "old fashion way". My doctor told me that sure the pills may help..... but, you risk the chance of gaining it back. The only SURE way is the "old fashion way". We need to make lifestyle changes to really notice a difference. =)

I totally agree that lifestyle change as opposed to pills or whatever is the best way to prevent the weight lost being gained again. x

I used diet pills at first and thought they helped, but I kept losing at the same rate after I stopped taking them so... just a waste of money really. Most diet products are just scams, it really comes down to good choices, portion control, and exercise. It's more about doing what's best for you and you won't learn that from a pill or surgery.

I lost 100 lbs and have kept off 80 lbs of that for 3 years.

Most diet pills, diet plans, pre-op plans, "quick fix lose it now" plans... They all tell people the same thing anyway. "Eat less, watch your calorie intake, and move at least 30 minutes a day."

I've lost a total of a little over 40 lbs. In the past I've tried Hydroxycut and Alli and I don't recommend either! They don't make a big difference and have some pretty unpleasant side effects (especially the Alli, lol).

I can see why some people get gastric bypass surgery, but if you don't change your lifestyle completely at the same time then it's a waste of money. You may not be able to fit as much in your stomach but you can still eat candy bars, soda, etc and still get way too high of a calorie intake.

Overall, nothing works like good old fashioned hard work.
