I just got a V8 splash. The ingredients list shows High fructose corn syrup as the first ingredient then a bunch of fruit juices then sucralose. I know these are forms of sugar but should I be concerned and stay away from these items? Let me know what you think.
Thanks

I personally stay away from "juice" drinks for that exact reason. They are simply sugar filled drinks with little nutritional value. Eating fruits and vegetables is the best way to have them. When you want juice, I recommend having 100% juice, nothing with fillers.

I thought sucralose was Splenda. So it's got HFCS and an artificial sweetener? Yuck.

I wouldn't drink that all. I wouldn't even consider it juice. I don't really drink juice, but if I do it has to be 100% juice with nothing added.

    Agreed! Go natural! No chemicals.

Invest in a juicer, and use agave nectar or honey for a little bit of sweetness. Fresh prepared (in a healthy manner) always beats anything processed! With all of the studies coming out on the wide variety of refined and chemically enhanced sweeteners, I'm tending to take the stand that none of them were meant to be eaten by mankind!

Myself I do not drink anything unless it is organic. No artifical anything.
  • Even organic apple juice is just flavored sugar water. It spikes your blood sugar more than coca-cola. It cannot hold a candle to just eating an apple and drinking a glass of water.

Better yet, forget the apple and have some spinach :)
