Question of the Day- Day 77!!!
How often a week do you eat out?
**Me- I use to eat out every day for lunch but now since joining MFP I hardly ever eat out for lunch anymore and my family might eat out once or twice a week for dinner.. usually on the weekends. I pretty much cook most nights. If they eat out I try and find the healthiest choice available. Eating out is too hard and too much work now a days!!

I have been eating fast food (fried stuff) a lot less. I grabbed some tator tots on Friday, had an appointment to get to. Started to eat one and I had to throw the whole thing out, it tasted so gross. So I think my healthy eating is really paying off.0

We eat out more than we should but I love it. Probably because we're meeting friends and family or it's a birthday or anniversary. I try to choose and/or encourage others to choose places where there are healthy options and most restaurants have them these days. To give a specific number, I would say 1-3x.
Edited to add that although we eat out, I avoid most fast food restaurants all together. The only place I go in a crunch is Wendy's and I will have their berry almond chicken salad (it's delicious and very reasonable).0 -
I am very similar to you usually eat out 1-2 times a week and go with anything grilled chicken or fish with the healthiest side dishes I can find, theres times its been more or less but it is getting harder to eat out and find healthy choices the worst part is the sodium0

I usually get a salad once a week out. On the weekends me and my 7 year old might grab something. I eat out a lot less than I did 4 months ago. I usually try to get something healthy but the sodium is outrageous!!0

None. Maybe once every 4-6 weeks.0

We usually eat out at least once a week sometimes more than that... We were eating out almost everyday sometimes twice (probably a big factor of gaining so much) but i started cooking more at home and trying to plan out meals for our long days still a little hectic and we just end up grabbing a pizza or its super late, but i try to cook healthier food for us....0

On Mondays I usually have Subway for dinner. It's just become part of my routine as far as eating healthy but not having to cook the first day of the week! Fridays are my "cheat meal", so that involves either eating at a resteraunt or getting something to go normally. Ocassionally (maybe once or twice a month) I will eat out for another meal on the weekend. It's when I'm visiting my family that it's the worst (I moved over 10,000 miles away for a job)- I find that my family wants to go out for lunch and my friends want to go out for dinner- I end up gaining weight every time I go home. The trouble too is that we don't have any of those resteraunts I really like in the town I live in now (it's very touristy, so there are NO chains whatsoever), so I justify it by saying I won't get the opportunity to have whatever food it is for the next 4-5 months or something!0

I've definitely been eating out less since joining MFP... about twice a week instead of five times or more. When I do go out I've been much better about limiting calories... I was shocked at first to learn just how bad a lot of restaurant food can be. My latest lesson was in finding out about the ridiculous amount of sodium in what I ate at Ruby Tuesday this past weekend. Ack! If possible, I'm going to research the nutrition information before going out so I can make smarter choices.0

Once every couple of weeks. Yesterday I went out for tapas.0

Yes eating out is very hard and I often times think I dont want to make the other person feel odd becuase I stop long before the person Im with or i have to spend 20min reading the menu and asking questions about the food or worse blow days worth of cals on one meal which can be easily done at a restrant So try to avoid them :sad:0
