My thinking is, jogging is at a slower pace, and running is a faster pace of doing the same thing.

Pretty much. Weight Watchers draws the line at 5mph. Anything under that is jogging (aka a 12minute mile).0

Some people count it as the same thing, so I also always wondered...0

I don't worry about the differentiation. I do what I can, be it 4mph or 8mph (my average is usually around 5, but I get up to 8 sometimes according to My Tracks)0

Jogging and running use different energy systems :drinker:0

Jogging is for exercise. Running there's someone behind you.0

Fast twitch vs slow twitch muscles.
I am a jogger because my fast twitch muscles don't work very well.0 -

Actually, you use slow twitch in both activities... Sprinting uses fast twitch.0 -

I don't know how they can come up with any sort of meaningful definition based entirely on speed. What's jogging for a tall male in his late teens is likely to be running - or even sprinting - for a short female in her late 50s.0 -

hahahaha
too funny
I have never really known the difference, but then again, I have never really been able to run. I can jog now, but only for short distances with walking in between.
All the web pages I have looked at about it define the difference between the speed.0
