I'm new again

I've been on MFP a couple of times but this time I'm really ready. My blood pressure is high and I just found out I'm anemic, too. I've had an under-active thyroid for most of my life but that's the only health issue I ever had until recently. A birthday yesterday reminded me that although most of my ancestors lived to a good age (that I'm closing in on now) most died from heart attacks or strokes. When I go to a store and see the condition of many people obviously younger than I am I feel very fortunate. But I don't want to go any farther downhill than I have already. My independence is very important to me. I want get to my optimum health and stay that way.
