I really dont like taking a day off from exercising. I know that the body needs rest, so i have designated sunday as my day of rest... i mean, come on, theres football on all day. But i seem to get just bored, tired, lazy all day.

I'd probably just go work out, but my knee has been bothering me as of late so i definately need this day off... but ugh, im just dragging through the day.

I know how you feel. I went back for the first time since Tuesday. I've had strep and I still feel like crap, but just do what you can and don't quit.

I totally have the same issue. Sometimes I go for a leisurely walk on my rest day, just to get circulation going - or do some stretching.

I've been feeling the same way today! I really wanted to work out, but my calves are so sore it hurts to walk! I'm hoping this day off will be what my body needed, so I get can my head back where it needs to be tomorrow. Good luck to you!

I have the same problem. I guess just enjoy the day, or go for a walk. Something light.

I get around that by doing abs and light cardio on off days.

Two positive take-aways from your post.

    (1) You know you NEED a day off. Too many folks on here risk their health by not taking a day off. I'm grumbling 'cause I'm off today, but I tweaked my knee running yesterday, so I know I need the day. Better to have a weekly day of rest (or a couple of days as needed) than months of rehab and recovery!

    (2) You are IRRITATED about it. This is GREAT! It means that when tomorrow comes, today will just have been a day of rest. One day of rest has the potential to be the "first day on the road to where you came from." The fact that you're irritated means you won't let that happen.

I'm seein' some positives for you. 'Sall I'm sayin'.

go for a soothing walk :)
  • I just take a leisurely stroll with my doggy on my 'off day'. It isn't intense, I don't sweat. But I feel better for it.
