Corticosteroid injections

So, my doc has suggested having steroid injections for my busted *kitten* shoulder.. I guess I am scared of whether it will hurt much etc in proportion to how effective it will be.

If it has a wonderful result, bring on the pain!

If not, I don't want to go through it for nothing..

Has anyone here had a steroid injection into a joint?

What was it like?

How well did it work?

I've had several, three of which were in my shoulder. They were miraculous for me and allowed me to jump back in my game quick. Give it a shot (no pun intended) :)

    Good Luck!

I've never had them so I'm not sure about weighing in, but my dad gets them in his back for degenerative disc. They last him for upwards of a year before it starts to bother him enough to go in for another. I dunno if they have different strengths or how often your doc might have suggested you go though...

By the way, they don't hurt that much relative to the relief you will get. The doc will apply a topical anesthesia before injecting you.
