A Few Fair(e) NSV's of my Own!

Yesterday, my husband and I took our kids to a nearby Rennaissance Faire. These are my NSVs
1. I thought that my brand new bright pink corset would be wearable. I tried it on at the hotel before we left but found it was too large. This was a gift from my cousin last spring and I have never worn it. Ebay here it comes! lol
2. I ate fairly healthily while at the faire - half a cornish game hen and corn on the cob for lunch instead of the usual fat-fests that I used to love eating (Pig on a Twig, funnel cake, pizza, sausage rolls, or steak and mushroom sandwiches). I also only drank water until right before we left. I was getting a heck of a headache so I allowed myself a Diet Coke for the caffiene since I had no ibuprofen available.
3. Before we left, we stopped by a clothing booth because I have recently become enamored of the bodice/corsets that have attached skirts. I tried one on that I thought looked to be my size that was faintly piratical (ohhh it was gorgeous! Black and silvery brocade with half-skirt shaped tails is the closest I can describe it) and - it was too big! Even better, one of the staff was helping someone else with a corset so I didn't have anyone helping me but when I tried to get a look at myself in the mirror she was holding, she eyeballed me and said "Oh honey, thats just too big for you! Try a 33!" I haven't had a size 32 bust since I was 19 or so. I know it is supposed to fit small but still - being able to go that low was FANTASTIC! Unfortunately, I couldn't find a 33 in that style so I don't know exactly how it would look but I can't wait for next year so that I can go even lower!
4. This afternoon after we got home, I was laying on my back on my bed while talking to my husband as he got ready to leave for work. He told me not to move (which of course got him a side eye and me moving lol) then he got his camera and snapped a picture of me laying there. For the first time in a really, really long time, my stomach had gone flat while I was laying down. Not that great an NSV since it is far from flat while I am standing but it was nice to see any lumps and bumps I do have completely smoothed out and gives me an idea of what I could look like if I keep going.

Right on! The best part about those old corsets is that they're supposed to be so tight... and now, THEY AREN'T! So cool, I share in your happiness as I recently had a "faire"-related NSV. I can't wait to see next year's faire pix. I LOVE dressing up  Great job!0

Congratulations! It's it the most amazing thing when something you think won't fit/will just fit is too big?!0
