Does pumpkin, roasted in the oven taste like roasted butternut squash ?
i have made a pan of pumpkin soup for my lunches this week and i love it, but i have never had pumpkin roasted in the oven, or made anything else with it, the calorie content of pumplin seems lower than butternut squash, so wondered what else to make with it.

In most parts of the world, Butternut Squash is considered a pumpkin... So yes, roasting pumpkin is great but depending on the variety some are much stronger in flavour - Butternuts are quite subtle compared to say, a Queensland Blue or Jap Pumpklin. They are all very scrummy though!
However I'm guessing you are from the UK? BEWARE!!! At this time of year the pumkins are a bit rangey.. not much flavour and awful texture. They are all destined for the carving block but if you choose carefully you can still have a lovely one0
