I started trying to lose weight since September 29, 2011. Since then I've lost a total of about 8 pounds. Everyday for exercise I use a stationary bike. I haven't missed a single day, but sometimes I do it for a lot longer than other days. Sometimes I do just half an hour and other days two hours straight. Yesterday I did it for about an hour and a half straight. My stomach is pretty sore now. Is this normal? Could this mean my stomach muscles or tightening or perhaps the fat is beginning to turn to muscle? Or did I pull something? Should I take a break or continue going?

I'm not sure why your stomach would be sore, but I do know that experts say a rest day is needed. You can do 'active recovery' which I believe is usually just taking it easy- doing some light running/walking, or maybe just taking the workout down a notch. Maybe you need to take a break?
Congrats on your progress!0 -
Well done achieving that level of consistency. I don't know the answer to your question but do invite you to mix up your exercise a little bit, just for fun, biking one day, fast walk another, some kind of aerobics found on youtube on another again.
I don't think there is too much harm in taking a rest day, I had to take one today because my calf muscles hurt, I ended up doing the stretch 40 session from turbofire and feel pretty good now. (In other words, try some stretching too :-) )
edit: the benefit of mixing up the exercise is that you will be using slightly different muscles each day. Further though, maybe you could look into doing some strength stuff at this point too, would give you something to do on rest days.

You can easily do 30min-2h bike everyday and wouldn't need any rest because those kind of exercises aren't intense enough to do damage to Your body.
Considering You are exercising for around a week now its normal for Your muscles too feel tense and sore.
And fat cant turn into muscle.
If You feel you need to take a break take a day break.0
