I started doing the elliptical 6 days a week doing 500-600cals one day then 300-400 the next. Alternating. Recently I started doing just 20 min on elliptical and 20 min running at 5mph. Then just the running burning 400-500 cals for a 40 min run. I tried to get back on the elliptical yesterday and it was so hard! My legs hurt! But running they dont. I just wanna know, which is better form of cardio? Both, elliptical or running?

they are both excellent forms of cardio. the elliptical is much better on your joints, because it is very low impact. if you have bad knees, i'd stick with the elliptical.0

Running will burn more calories especially after you become more fit. Just 12 weeks ago I was running 3 miles and now I am doing a half marathon on Saturday.

WOW! Last week I could run only 2 minutes at a time taking a 2 minute break. Last night I ran 3 miles and only took a 1 minute break to walk every half mile! I hope to work up to a half marathon!0 -
I do both. I run for 30min. every morning at 5am. At 8am I do elliptical for 25-30min. I tried to go on the elliptical a couple of min. after my run and my legs were too dead..good luck!0

Yea that seems to be my problem. Maybe I can try one in the morning and one in the evening. Thanks for the advice!0

The best is whatever you will continue to do.
Personally, mixing it up, as you have been doing, seems to make it more interesting and engaging for me. Also, I like to increase the incline on the treadmill - making the workout more effective without increasing the impact to joints. Also, mixing endurance and interval trials from one day to the next.0
