So, we all know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Breast cancer is the most common case of cancer among women, along with skin cancer, in the United States. Let's honor the women, & their families, who have passed, survived & still fighting their battle with breast cancer.

For the past 5 or so years, my older sister & I have been participating in the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event in SF. We usually raise about $1000 each. This year has been full of family events (deaths, births, milestone birthdays, weddings [younger sister's & cousins] & planning for my older sister's wedding), so we haven't raised any money for this year. Nevertheless, we are still participating by walking/running the 5k path.

This year, instead of just doing the San Francisco event, we're doing both Bay Area events:

October 22, 2011 — San Francisco, CA — Speedway Meadow, Golden Gate Park
October 29, 2011 — San Jose, CA — Arena Green, Guadalupe River Trail

If anyone wants to join us, that would be super awesome!!

What are YOU doing to honor these wonderful super women & their families of our lives?
