Your working the muscle... a muscle that's probably not used to be worked... take a small break and do 25 more... that cramp like feeling is the muscle saying "What the heck you doing"

It could be an electrolyte imbalance. I eat bananas to prevent cramps when I work out (especially in my feet and toes). If you don't like bananas, Smart Water may help.

It's normal to have that feeling when you do crunches for the first few times. Just stretch out when you have that feeling. Lay on your stomach and straighten your arms and legs straigh out and stretch out to where your arms and legs are lifted a little from the floor.

Another thing it might be is your breathing. you want to make sure that you are breathing out when going up and in when laying back down. Always keep your stomach a little bit flexed. Just a few suggestions. I used to get that too.

It's the muscle telling you enough is enough. When I first started mine did the same thing. After a while they get easier. I would break it up, do like 10 crunches, 10 abdominal leg lifts, 10 squats, andthen then repeat until you hit yor goal of how many you'd like to acomplish.

Also, if you break a sweet I put it down as calistetics, and keep track of time, if I don't break a sweet I put it down as strength training. Good luck.
Feel free to friend me if you'd like.

I disagree with this, as someone who also weight plus 250lbs, the best thing I did for myself was push through it, and rest in between sets... My trainer had me up to 75 all at once. Keep at it.
