Starchy Carbs Suck

I normally eat real food, no fast food to speak of, and mostly very low sugar (around 10g per day) and net carbs under 50g.
Well today, I decided to cheat for lunch and since I'd seen some commercials for Wendy's lately, I went and got a Dave's Hot 'n Juicy double cheeseburger with a large fries, no drink.
This lovely little combo didn't taste as good as I thought it would (kinda dry) and feeling guilty after looking up the nutritional content, which was 1330 cals, including 43g carbs on the burger, and 68g carbs on the fries, I decided to work it off as best I could. So after about an hour, I went out and ran 6 miles in about 72 minutes (avg 5 mph). This burned approx 750 cals.
So after cool down and shower, I check my blood sugar. 3 hours after the meal, and a 6 mile run, it's still 159!!!
I am NEVER eating potatoes or hamburger buns again. Starchy carbs serve no purpose except to jack up our blood sugar so we can develop insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.
BTW - I'm male, 44, 5'8'', 162 lbs in excellent health.
And now, I'm also scared straight!
