i just found a place close to school and brought some food from home to prepare. but i totally forgot to bring things like oil, garlic, and spices! the only things i have on hand are ketchup, salt, pepper, spicy sesame oil and lemon juice. when i go home this weekend i'm going to bring the stuff i forgot, but does anyone have any tasty recipe ideas for what i have on hand? i'm looking to stretch these ingredients out for the next 4 days =).

i have (aside from the condiments):
brocolli
cauliflower
eggplant
those spicy pepper things
spinach
a gajillion pounds of pasta
two packs of ramen
chinese bbq roast pork

Actually where you have the chinese BBQ roast pork... take your broccoli, cauliflower, and eggplant - sautee in your sesame oil, light dusting of salt and pepper...

Then add your roast pork in to reheat (make sure its reheated to 165F at the minimum), you can use about 2oz of cooked spaghetti to act as your "Lo Mein" if you want...

Save the lemon juice for lemon-water - freeze in your freezer, blend up in a blender to make a slushie!!!

    Another Idea:

    1. Top Ramen Soup with BBQ pork and tons of extra diced veggies. Extra water, salt and pepper to taste. Make it more "asian" by adding the sesame oil. This would probaly make the single pack of Top Ramen stretch to 2 or 3 meals easily.

If you don't want especially soggy noodles, then break the noodles in half and make only enough noodles for each individual serving, but prepare the Broth with the Beef and Veggies in advance.

    2. You can also make a fresh veggie strifry with the veggies and pasta with a squeeze of lemon on it. Salt and Pepper to Taste

    3. (Possibility) Try experimenting with the ketchup, lemon and sesame sauce to see if you can make a "spicy sweet and sour" sauce of sorts. Add a touch of salt as it will help to balence out the sweetness. Think 2 parts ketchup, 1 part sesame and a squeeze of lemon) Do it in the tiniest amount first so you don' t waist your ingredients. If it works you can use this as a dressing for a Vegetarian Stirfry dish. Then stirfry your veggies.

    Good luck!

try a spaquetti bake with eggplant.

Cook noodles in boiling water wih a little salt for about 10 minutes
Add the eggplant chopped in cubes to the water for 5 more minutes
Save 1 cup of the pasta water and drain everything else.
Put the pastas veggie mix in a caserol or backing pan
mix the reserved water with kethup, spicy oil, salt pepper and a touch of lemon juice
add the souce to the rest and bake for 20 min at 350 till bubbly

Also try cooking the ramen nodles with 1/2 the spice pack that comes with it and some of your veggies chopped in. This cut the sodium and make them fill you longer

One good combo can be the ramen with the spinach and a little lemon juice too.

    Good luck!

I'm used to Ramen Noodles being in a soup but they could probably be used in a stir fry as well.
