Am I at risk...?

of an overuse injury or workout burnout? I lived a pretty much completely sedentary lifestyle for a few months (I'm between jobs and not going to school, so it's pretty much all sitting down, all day.) I got sick of it, and last Wednesday I decided to get up and go power walk/jog two miles, and I haven't stopped since. Every day I've done at least a mile and a half on the treadmill, and yesterday I got aquainted with the Nike Training app (man am I sore today, lol!)
Im super tired physically today, but i dont want to take a day off because im afraid that i wont get back on the wagon tomorrow.
It all makes me wonder, though, if I'm at risk for an injury. I don't have any pain other than the run of the mill, next day soreness, but I don't want to hurt myself. If the contestants on The Biggest Loser can go from their previous lifestyles to working out four hours a day, every day, I don't see myself being at risk. But that's why I come here... Lots of people who have more experience than me and know a lot more than I do! Lol!
Thanks in advance everyone... And if I have a decent amount of typos in my post, please ignore them! I'm normally a stickler for making my posts perfect, but im not used to using an iPod!

:flowerforyou: Make sure you go slow and stretch even before walking.

I workout everyday and only take a rest day if I have to...sick, way too sore, can't make it to the gym, weather, injury, etc...I just make sure to drink lots of water, eat enough, and stretch!

I usually go 5 to 6 times a week which is mostly during the week and I get up at 4:45 to make it to the gym by 5. If my butt is too tired to go to the gym, I just miss the day and make sure I go the next day.

I don't think it would hurt you to slow down a little and even miss a day

Completely agree with this - also, take a day off, or work out in a different way (pilates or yoga) on off days so that you can see the benefit of your work. If you pound at the same type of exercise every day, your muscles never get a chance to repair, and you can actually get weaker rather than stronger.

I applaud your efforts to get up and move, just make sure you don't get hurt in the process. If you suffer an injury, it will be that much harder to get back.

    Good luck.. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

If you work out consistently, with good form, and get the rest you need, you can work out daily. You don't want to strength train the same muscles everyday though. The body is amazing and can adapt to new stresses within a short time.

    Thank you for the advice!
I've been planning on walking/jogging every day, plus adding the Nike Training app every day... which is basically a collection of exercise sets that I would choose from every day. They have cardio, plus weights elements. Should I do running on some days, and the Training app on the others?

Be sure to consume your calories for the day as well.
