Not eating enough calories?

This is my first time to really count calories and measure food and I'm noticing that more often than not I'm not reaching my full caloric goal. It's not usually off by more than 200 calories so I think that's sort of okay.

Today I had a pretty good workout but didn't have any time for lunch so I'm curious how important it is to get all of my calories in each day. I might be under by several hundred by the end of the night. Should I eat as many (healthy) cals as I can? Stagger them over the next few days? Chalk it up as a loss and get back on track tomorrow?

Thanks.

You should try to eat as close to your daily calories as possible. Don't save your extra calories for the next day. You should try to also eat small meals every 3 hours.

    Hope that helps!

At first if you go a little low it'll be fine.. 1-200 calories is close enough..

Later your body will demand to eat as you exercise more since you're burning up all those calories and it needs to keep you moving.

I always eat my minimum cals 1200 and then eat half my exercise calories.. but that doesnt work for everyone..

Try tweaking it and see what works for you.

Most people don't worry about going over on protein. I go over almost everyday, it's a good thing(for me)

don't worry about protein and fiber in terms of going over, look more at things like fat, sugars, and carbs
i usually don't worry about going over on protein and fiber and I've lost weight consistently going over on both sometimes

Are you off by 200 because of the exercise or is that your original calorie goal before exercise? If it's because of exercise, I say don't worry about it.

I am usually under by a decent amount on days I workout. But no matter what, I make sure I net over 1200. I don't let my calories slip under there or get too close for too many days. My body needs fuel!

Protein is good! In fact, a protein drink right after your workout is awesome. Refuel the warrior princess muscles and get all your cals for the day. How cool is that!?

I am new to this, can you help me understand what it is to eat your excercise calories, or half of them.
    Thanks

Yes, It's been below because of exercise except today. Right now I still have about 400 kcal to get to 1200 for the day and I've eaten dinner already.

To eat your calories is to consume the number of calories that you have burned for the day through exercise. If you run for 30 minutes and burn 300 calories you have essentially added an extra 300 calories that you can eat for the day. Eating half of that would be 150 calories of food.

protein and fiber are set to the minimum you should have daily, its ok to overpass it... calories, fat, carbs are set to max those are not ok to overpass
