Hello MFP'ers

I think I need to up my calories. For the last little while I have been having trouble netting above 5-600 cals. I realise I could just cut back on my exercise but I don't want to do that because it has taken me a while to get into a routine and I don't want to wreck that now. I have a couple of questions.

The first one is how do I up my calories with out going over on my sodium and sugar.

Second question is has any one from Perth, WA seen a dietician and can any one reccomend some one. I think I need some more specific information

Before anyone answers I would like to state that I am aware of what a lot of people think about starvation mode and whilst I have my own opinnion on this formed from a lot of research, that is not what this post is about.

Thanks for any advise offered

More lean meats like Grilled Chicken Breast. Fresh green veggies like Broccoli will work too. Raw almonds wouldn't hurt.

Get those calories from healthy fats. (9 cal per gram)

I am in a similar boat and am focusing on it by eating more protein, and gradually becoming familiar with which foods give you good nutrition for the calories.

And hey your tried and true recipes look like a good place to start.

I think increasing them gradually is a good way to go - add in extras like a bit of avocado, a boiled egg, increase your serve of chicken or meat, nuts are great (dry roasted hazelnuts from Woolies are my current favourite snack), crackers and dip.
Add more fruit if you don't mind natural sugars or veggies if you want less sugar.
Broad beans are in season in WA and if you can find them whole and fresh in the markets they are fantastic (I bought some in Busselton on the weekend!)

As you can guess, I'm from Perth but don't know of any dieticians. I hope you get some good suggestions and get some good advice.
