Workout Recovery options...

Howdy all!

I guess first, I know everyone is different and answers may vary. So, I am looking for what all of you like for recovery options from a workout? My workouts burn, on average, 600-1100 calories. I most typically eat soon after, but eating chicken isn't a fast protein recovery.

I've had the G3 recovery, and they don't effect me negatively, but is it hype? Does it work for people? What else are you all using?

My workouts are typically swimming, biking and running. I'll so some modest weight training but for tone, I don't intend to bulk up. I take no supplements.

Thank you in advance for your time and replies.

I've used chocolate milk for many years now. It keeps holding it's own against hi-tech products year after year.

I usually make a shake with chocolate protein powder, almond milk, cocoa powder, banana, peanut butter, & baby spinach. very filling.

on a side note, I love your dog!@ That picture is adorable!

Just a scoop of protein powder shaken up with some unsweetened almond milk after every workout, whether it's strength training or cardio. After distance runs I'll also try to take in some carbs within 30 min of finishing, so I'll eat a Greek yogurt.

If you're in a calorie deficit you won't have to worry too much about getting bulky from the weight training, so hitting the weights hard will shape & define your muscle rather bulk you up.

I use P90X Results and Recovery Shake. It has the required 4 to 1 ratio of Carbs to Protein as well as some other goodies in it. The days that I don't drink it after a vigorous work out, my body reminds me why I love it so much. I highly recommend it.
