Re-discovered boxing and killing my calories!

I've started tacking on some boxing to the end of my gym routine because my HRM was only showing calories burned of around 300 or so after being in the gym for 50 minutes. I get so into it with my music pumped that I don't realise how hard I'm working! It's great and I feel a lot less stressed too. I think I'm going to try to do this more often. I found yesterday morning I had a record max HR of 174 and I didn't even notice I'd done it!! It pushed the calories burned up to over 500 too.

By the way I'm just boxing with one of those bags (don't know what they are called - just the big cigerette shaped ones that you can punch and kick). Today I'm going to order myself some boxing gloves off Amazon because the gym's ones are RANK - imagine putting your hand into a glove that filled with cold, smelly sweat from other people
Shows you how dedicated I am!!

Anyone else include boxing in their routine?

I used to do boxing at the gym and found it was amazing! The best work-out I ever did at the gym. Having not gone to the gym in a while - I haven't done it in ages. But you are right about the buring calories and releasing stress - it is also super for toning the arms! I have my own boxing gloves back in Sydney but living in Montreal now - I haven't had that sort of thing sent over yet.
Do they have boxing classes at your gym? That was a great way to push myself even further :)

I go to a gym called Title Boxing Club where that's all they do, either boxing or kickboxing. I burn around 700 calories in a power hour. It is awesome and I LOVE it. I go 5 times a week and am addicted to it. It is hard but the trainers keep you motivated and keep me going...if you want to read my story, click on the link in my signature...

so yes, boxing is an awesome way to burn up those calories!!!

Fee - yes they have boxing classes at my gym although not always at fantastic times. My personal trainer does the classes though so he always does lots of boxing with me in our sessions together.

Ali - wow those classes look awesome! I can see why you are addicted! I will have to look for something similar where I am

Just ordered some way cool new boxing gloves for myself on Amazon today:

I think that will really help too :explode:
