I am fairly new around here and LOVE this web site. I do great through the week, partly because during the day i am at my desk, get all my water in etc, but weekends are BAD for me. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for me on weekends. I worked out last night for an hour, but am really frustrated beacuse I see results during the week and then I feel like I sabatoge everything on weekends. Your help would be great!

I don't have any ideas for ya, but I just wanted to let you know you aren't alone!! I do so well during the week because I stay home with my kids so I eat really well, but when it comes to the weekends I am horrible. I feel so guilty and awful.

We need to find something so we can have a successful weekends!!!!

I wish I had something useful to add. I have a tough time too. This past weekend was NOT good. :grumble:

I know we're supposed to just let it go and move on but I'm the same, so mad at myself for not being able to be consistent! :explode:

Glad it's Monday so I can get back on the band wagon. I got up this morning to do my cardio before work. I usually do an hour and it was all I could muster to do 40 minutes because I feel so crappy for eating junk and lack of movement over the weekend. Sigh...I exhaust myself!
  • I am right there with you. I was out of town this weekend and didn't have access to a computer. I was visiting someone at the hospital so I actually ate pretty healthy during the day but didn't do so good at night. What I think we need to remember is that we are trying to create a new lifestyle and that we need to find rewards in things other than food (and drink). I am back on track this morning and when Friday rolls around, I know that I am going to try doubly hard to stay focused on the goal. Good luck!

I try to plan ahead as much as possible. If I know I will eating at a restaurant or something, I try to think about my options. If you can't get to a computer, you can write down what you eat. Even if you don't know the calories, you can estimate (especially if you've been at this for a little while). Writing down everything makes you more accountable for what you are eating too.

I try to not even think about the weekends as anything other than just another day of the week. If I think, "Yeah! It's the weekend!!" (like I have in the past), I will tend to just eat/do whatever.
  • I'm glad that I'm not the only one. The only time I do good on the weekends is when I plan out exactly what I'm going to eat on an Excel spreadsheet, print it out and hang it on the fridge. I'm lost without it. I had another horrilbe weekend because I didn't have anything planned out. Thank goodness for Monday!
  • Thanks guys, I feel better knowing many people have a hard time staying on track on weekends, not just me! I will have to write things down if i'm not at a computer and plan my meals better. Ya'll are great, thanks for the support!
