Hello all,

Normally my job requires me to go back and forth between two four-floor houses, going up and down the stairs to deliver files and mail to my co workers, BUT unfortunately today (and tomorrow) I will be up at the reception desk sitting for 8 hours.

What are some good desk exercises I can do to help my lower body?

  • I'll try asking this again... I'm stuck at the reception desk, and am about to fall asleep.

    Shouldn't you be working?
  • bahhaa....unfortunately I sit at a desk all day every day......and have found that doing leg lifts under my desk helps...also, I'm known to randomly start desk dancing.....basically just moving my upper body like a crazy lady...anything to keep from being STILL.....:)
Someone suggested sitting on a stability ball...so i'm going to get one this weekend!! :D
    GOOOOD LUCK!!

I am a receptionist, when I felt like exercising that one time I just paced the floor and stood while taking calls. It's just as easy to take and transfer a call while standing as it is while sitting. But then I got over it and went back to my usual lazy self.

baahaha. I am...sorta. Reception requires answering the phones and other sitty-type things. I WAS climbing stairs all day, but with 2 hours left in the day, I was forced to sit at the oh so quiet reception desk when all the partners and big wigs got to leave.

Everytime the phone rings, it jolts me awake and I get so excited to answer it.

    *sigh*
