CORNISH GAME HEN
hello all! i am planning on making Cornish game hens this week for dinner. I want to put them in the cork pot but i would really appreciate some help on ideas for recipes because i haven't cooked them in forever and when i did last it was in the oven . So if anyone can help out i would appreciated. another issue is i have been looking around and i can seem to get a calorie reading for them one site said 500 cals another said just 220 that's a big difference

I usually throw them in the oven as well..with tomato sauce poured on top with garlic powder and black pepper... but the cals for the 500 might be for the whole hen and the 220 is for the half?0

I usually BBQ the Cornish hen because it is a way to have my husband involved in "cooking." I just add seasonings and lime or lemon juice. But I also have problems with the proper calorie count because all the information that I got is high and is probably counting the bones and the skin (which we don't eat). Check the info in the package because it will be more accurate and it does not count cooking or seasoning.
I never cooked them in the Crockpot but I guess that they would be done pretty fast unless you cooked them in a very slow setting. Maybe you will get ideas from other MFP members.0
