Toning Exercises?

I joined MyFitnessPal back in June and it couldn't have been a better decision on my part. I love the people here, the convenience of it all, and the way it helps keep me on track. Since joining I've lost 32 pounds and still have 22 to go!

I haven't really worked any toning / strength exercises into my workouts the past four months. A little here and a little there but nothing regularly. I've mostly been using cardio to get my heart rate up and burn those calories.
My question is if starting toning/strength exercises now would be beneficial since I still have at least 22 pounds to go or if I should wait until I'm closer. I don't know if doing these now will be any benefit to me or if waiting will be better in the long run.

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Absolutely start weight lifting as soon as possible if you want an aesthetic physique.
EDIT: I would also recommend this for people with 100+ pounds to lose. Again, this is if you care about physique/end result and not just the number on the scale.

START.NOW!!!! I'm a big fan of circuit training workouts because you do strength training and cardio at the same time..... which gives awesome results!

Congrats on your success and keep on!

Yes definitely! I'm at my last 20lbs. I started Jillian Michaels 30day shred to ease myself into it. Plus more muscle-more calorie. I find I more burn calories when I include weights in my routine.
