Profile Self-Portraits

Options
I notice a lot of people have to angle themselves in front of a mirror to take their own photo. More than likely, the easiest way to get a photo of yourself, no doubt. I have never done this...not because I don't want to, but because I for the life of me cannot figure out how to do it without cutting off most of myself.

My question is for those of you who are pro's at the "mirror-self-portrait".

Do you care what else ends up in your photo? Like, a messy house or a really dirty bathroom? Does it bother you that other's can see this when looking at your photo?

I ask, because I see a lot of MESSY rooms and today, a FILTHY toilet behind someone in their pic. Are you okay with letting people see that deep into your life?

**Not trying to be mean, just something I've notice and am genuinely curious about!**

I don't have a self-portrait photograph, but if I did I wouldn't worry as my homestead is immaculate.

I'm NOT okay with seeing it...and some things can't be unseen!

I have seen many self portraits on facebook that make me cringe. A lot of chicks in their "sexy" poses and the background, just revolting! Some are taken in their bathroom and you can tell they haven't cleaned that bathroom in years. It's gross. I would be embarrassed to post a picture like that. One chick always took her duck face portraits in her bedroom and you could see mounds and mounds of clothes scattered all over the floor and the on the unmade bed. ew.

I'm just a messy person. Clean, but messy. I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. I do try to tidy up a bit behind me though, before i do the mirror pic.

Yes! Nothing wrong with being messy. You should see my kitchen after I prep my meals on Sundays...it's a warzone! HOWEVER, I wouldn't want that in my photo to be a representation of myself! Do I just have too much pride, or is this normal to feel this way?

Today for example, I saw someone's photo on here, and the toilet in the background looked like someone had vomited all over/around it. It nearly made me gag, and I just wondered how the person could deal with having that in their pic!

LOL, yeah. I can't seem to angle myself correctly to get anything in the pic properly! But yes, yours is fine, as it doesn't have a poopy toilet in the background or anything!

I try to make sure that whatever is in the background either isn't mine, or is reasonably picked up. There's a self portait floating around on the interwebz some where of a chick posing in her bra and panties or something trying to be all sexy . . . with a big dump in the toilet behind her . . .

I bought a small tri-pod to use for my cooking blog so I just use that if I want to take a self portrait. I have taken the mirror photo before but I would only use them if the background was not a mess. I once took a picture of my sunburned back and I even made sure the bathroom was all clean, but I failed to notice that my nipples are rather prominent in the photo. That photo nearly killed my husband's grandmother when she saw it on facebook.

Nothing says a good time like duck lips, a blank stare, and a turd in the bowl in the background.

Normal digi camera + 10 second timer = non goofy mirror picture with you holding a phone.

Soo much fun. I wanna take one with porn playing on a big screen tv in the background. But I would prolly get banned. =(

Yeah....*sigh*...too many uptight folks with dirty photo backgrounds might get offended.

Yes, but that would require me to find the digi camera, charge it and set it up. I never plan to take a picture, it just occurs to me and I normally have my phone with me.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who looks at the background in people's pics! You can easily crop your own pics before posting them!

If we could only crop people we'd be in buisness.
