I'm new to site and recently had gall bladder removed

Hello all, I had my gall bladder out a week ago. I'm fine, but I continue to try to get rid of the unwanted pounds I had prior to the removal. I try to avoid all the negative remarks about gb removal, because it's done now, although I'm very aware of the challenges many face afterwards. If anyone knows of a good site with suggested meals for a person like me, please let me know. I've gone to the
Vegetarian website to try to find meals, which I understand for my blood type (A+) is a good way of eating. I guess I'm mainly looking for "LOW FAT meals after gb removal". Lately coconut oil and flax oil is what I've been consuming.

I had my gall bladder out a year ago and have had no problems whatsoever with digestion of any sort of foods.... Took me a few days to get back to walking, and maybe a month before I was comfortably wearing jeans again and doing all the activities I always had done before.
My brother has had his out too a few years ago (also no problems) & when I had mine out, I made lots of friends on message boards just like these who all also had no problems.... I am sure you will be just fine0 -
did you find it helpful lowering your fat intake after your GB removal or did your diet stay that same0

I had mine out in 2004, and I am fine. I have a problem with greasy foods, but I always have. My doc never told me what to stay away from. But even spicy foods, are fine with me. :flowerforyou:0

I had already lowered my fat intake because I'd already lost 60 pounds!! I learned that my weight loss is possibly one of the things that caused the gallstones in the first place!
My brother never changed a thing in his diet - he was/is stubborn.
The other people I talked to were all from diet message boards so were all also watching their weight and probably had a lower than the average person fat intake.0 -
I had mine out 10 years ago this month and I have never lowered my fat intake (probably why I am so fat) anyways, I have never had any trouble digesting foods. I don't recall them telling me to lower my fat intake cause of it either.0

I had my gb out about a year ago. I had already lost alot of weight prior and was concerned about gaining it back, bc I had heard that some times people gain weight after the removal. Thats a myth-if you lose or gain weight-its bc of what you do or do not change.
The only thing that you have to watch is building back up your workout routine. Start small and work your way up. If you rush it, it'll only slow you down in the long run, you dont want to tear the stitches on the inside.
I didnt do any exercise for a wk, then I went to walking, and then after two or three more wks I started adding in my running again. I dont think I did weights until after a month though. Good luck to you.0 -
Although I tried to school myself on my diet post gB surgery, I was very surprised that my surgeon didn't suggest ANYTHING. He only mentioned that alot of his patients who gained weight afterwards is because they had no problems consuming the bad foods (he didn't say BAD). They told me after 2 days, I could resume my regular diet (not even knowing what that was). This is why I was scared of eating the fats that I normally ate. Thanks for your responses and I'll keep reading. I hope to have the success with weight loss after GB surgery as others have.0
