Have not been to the gym in over a week and a half...

I've been sick with strep and tonsilitis...ugh. And due to some breathing issues (like I'm not able to due to hacking and coughing all day long) I have not made it to the gym.

I am hoping to get back this week...I hope I hope....I'm still sick and still feel like crap right now though.
I guess my concern is that I may not get back...Will I fall into the land of the couch potato again? Will I be able to force myself into going on a regular basis again?

I hope so.

Any encouraging words or "kick in the *kitten*" words would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Peeps

It takes more than a week and half to get back out of shape. You should be just fine. GEt back as soon as you are healthy and just take it slow if you need to

    Overcome inertia!
  • I've been busy feeling sorry for myself for a week and a half because summer ended rather abruptly and now I have to work harder to "find my happy place" when I train. I'm back at it today, just like I never quit. Give yourself time to feel normal again, working out when you're sick is not beneficial to anybody, and give yourself permission to take a time out until you do. (A reasonable amount of time, not like until april. :) . When you feel better you'll be back at it just because you can and your body will be happy for having had the break.

I was sick two weeks ago and did not get my butt into gear to go last week...but I did today! And I will tomorrow! I wish I had gone all of last week but all I can do is move forward!

Basically, don't do what I did! But if you do, just pick yourself back up!
