Pickles for protein?

I was told that stiff, firm pickles actually have protein! Not the limp kind though, you need the firm ones. The limp ones have already had all of the protein removed. I hear that you can milk them for a protein shake, but since you burn calories in the extraction, its a net-zero snack.

Anyone know the truth to this? I always thought pickles didn't have any nutritional value at all.

I've heard the pickle milk should be drank straight from the pickle instead of making shakes with it.

It depends. I can usually tell from a photo how much protein said pickle holds. Do you have a pic?

True, it is a lot of work to beat it.

I fail to see the nastiness? Do you dislike pickles? Are you more of a fish for your protein intake kind of a girl?

I personally swear by (and occasionally at) pickles for protein - although I'm not averse to the odd fish supper either, as a varied diet is supposed to be far more beneficial and stimulating.

Hmmmm... are these protein enriched pickles high in sodium? I've noticed that pickles sometimes tend to taste...salty.

always be sure to sniff the pickle first. Just to be sure it was properly prepped.

I love a nice, juicy pickle! If I could find the right pickle, I would live off pickle juice.

Great. I'm going to visit family for the holidays, start laughing hysterically at the veggie tray, and then have to explain myself. Thanks for that.

While I always have a pickle on hand, I prefer pickled herring.

Love a good pickle pop, gotta savor it slowly though! That's the best way.

In fact laughing is likely to have a reduction in protein acquisition.

Wow. From what I was able to research on the internets, I can understand your affinity for them.
Hawaiian apples are crisp, firm, and very sweet. Better for eating than baking, and perfect for those who like sweet, rather than tart, apples.
    Firm and sweet!

Anyone else like to put them on your fingers, like olives when you were a kid?

    Makes for some fun times!
