Hi, Just getting started - looking for help!

Hi, my name is Markus and I’m new to this. I’m trying to lose 30+ lbs. Most of my weight is around the middle and I really want to get back into shape. I’m finding this to be very hard.
I have a vacation in Jamaica with my wife coming up in 22 days and I really want to lose at least 10 pounds by then.
I enjoy eating and I like having a few beers with dinner. I know I’m going to have to change a lot about the way I eat, the way I live and start working out. This is going to be a struggle because I don’t like feeling hungry and I really have to push myself to go to the gym. It’s easy to just give up and throw in the towel. My friend recommended this site.
It would be helpful to have a support network of people to keep me on track and motivate me to continue. I think just reading people’s work out updates and seeing how people stay within their calorie goals would help a lot
