Help me...my husband is taking me out to eat to Chilies tonight...I know me, I will go with every intention of eating good, but then I will open the menu...

Does anyone have suggestions on what to eat that is not the bad for me? If I know what I am going to eat before I get there, I won't be as inclined to open the menu and "browse"

I have been doing so good...Help!!!

you can get something off the guiltless grill. I normally get the guiltless chicken platter, it's pretty good. my girlfriend gets the black bean burger, which she loves. also, you can get the chicken fajitas (but just go easy/dont eat the sourcream, cheese, guacamole)

And be careful with the Chips & Salsa and Margaritas.........thats what kills me at Chilis!

The mesquite chicken salad is not too bad, just go easy on the dressing!

Don't do the queso and chips!!! I made that mistake one day. We went and ordered chips/queso and the mesquite chicken salad. I got home and started logging in my calories. I was so happy when I had only put in the salad. Then came the chips/queso, even halfing it with my husband it put me like 500 calories over for the day!!!!!Yikes!!!!:noway:

Just be careful, it can be done!!!!

Guiltless grill is usually pretty good...and if you like salmon...they have a great salmon with mixed veggies...it is really pretty good for a whole meal.

Maybe have a small house salad before - no croutons or cheese...and use only a little bit of the dressing...they usually give you a small ramiken full of salad dressing...I use my fork and just drizzle it a bit - never use more than half of what they give me.

Check it out online! I would imagine you can find out what is on Chili's menu if you google it. If not, maybe some MFP members have already put in some entree choices into the list. I would type in just Chili and see what pops up. I am flying tomorrow and then taking a four hour bus ride to my destination. Aside from having to let go of my goal of 80 oz. of water for tomorrow (my usual) I am trying to plan out healthy snacks that are packable. So I feel for you having to venture outside your safe (diet) zone. Kinda makes you want to become agoraphobic, doesn't it? Good Luck!

I get the Monterey Chicken (grilled chicken with cheese, bacon, and BBQ sauce), but instead of mashed potatoes I get double veggies. I figure it comes in about 500. I know Chili's mashed potato's are 450 Calories!!! AHHH!!!

Indeed... just order off the Guiltless grill... avoid appetizers and calorie ridden beverages... and you're GOLDEN!

thank you guys sooooo much...I ended up getting the Montery Chicken and a diet coke...(I know should have had water, but I was craving something with carbonation) I gave my hubby the mash potatos...and doubled the broccoli order! I only ate half of the chicken since I made myself eat the broccoli first and fill up on that. I ended up with everything consuming under 550 cals!!! Thank you guys, this could have been a disaster for me!

Most restaurants have the nutrition content of their foods in their website. Chilis has a good one. I just posted on another topic that just yesterday I went with my husband. I did great ordering my meal, had the guiltless tilapia with the veggies. Almost made the mistake in ordering their chocolate chip molten cake to share with my husband. Something told me not to order it...came home check their site and that dessert is about 1250 cals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Outrageous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :flowerforyou:

Yay!! I'm glad you liked it! There is something about the seasoning sprinkle stuff they put on the brocolli (and potato's) that tastes so good! It's probably MSG.. but I don't want to know what it is. Tasty meal with little guilt!
