Attempt two are trying to post this! Grr!!

Ok, first and foremost, I want to say thank you to everyone that has been supporting me on my adventure, I can never have to many supporters (feel free to add me if you need support.

Winter is coming
I do a few hrs a week in walking, which is going to put that to a stop.
I cant use the stairs at work, due to us not being allowed to.
Ive lost 4 lbs in 16 fulls days of working out.
Today is day 21 for me.
I usually do when I am home
4-5 mins running in place
2 mins of crunches
2 mins of pushups or squats.

Anyone have other suggestions for when home with no workout equipment?
I am going to buy some weights this weekend, so any suggestions would be amazing.

Find some tapes that you really like. Nothing too crazy or difficult to start with. Maybe someone could reccomend some tapes that work for them.

I love to snow shoe. I haven't for a while. But if am around this winter, i'm getting a pair and I can't wait! They have smaller pairs now that aren't so bulky. And it's a really great work out....amazing for the butt and legs. If there are any walking paths or parks in your area they are so much fun. They are around seventy dollars for a pair. More if you want a fancy pair.

I used to have a pair when I lived in the city, and it was awesome. There were a few really horrible snow storms where there was no way anyone was going anywhere for a while....they made for my most memorable snow day ever!

If you are buying weights, consider getting kettlebells. They are so versatile, and I think they feel better than traditional free weights. Also, exercise TV is great if you must stay at home. Comcast has tons of workouts "on demand"

a lot of people are doing jillian's 30 day shred with great results. you only need the dvd ($10 at wal-mart) and hand weights (or even soup cans!!!)

play some fun music and dance around the house...

    clean and scrub the house....

    walk around a local mall?

You can buy a resistance band, jump rope, balance ball as well to change things up. Where I live I can goto the local high school from 5:30-7:30pm and use the cardio room and weight room for free. Look into that. Look online for exercise at home ideas. Good luck!

Do you have a local high school that keeps it's track clear during the winter? A few thin layers of the right kind of cold weather workout clothes and you can easily hit the track for some walking or running.

I'll also throw a recommendation for Kettlebells. I'm in an upstairs apartment so I'm limited on what kind of workout DVDs I could possibly due without risking angry downstairs neighbors, and I find the kettlebell workouts great. They are all controlled and stable movements with no huge weights/bars slamming down at the end of a set like regular freeweights.

Also, as someone suggested, look into local places that may offer free access to gyms, tracks, pools, or weight rooms. Maybe some pickup team sports or something, where folks aren't in it for the score but for the fun and exercise.

And I'll second the mall walking. We have groups here that meet up in the mornings and speed walk the malls (year-round, not a cold weather thing, I'm in the SF Bay Area). Often I see the ads for the groups posted at the malls themselves. One mall even lets 'em in an hour before opening, so it really is a dedicated workout time for them without crowds.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions.
I do have the jillians 30 day shred but I get bored with doing the same thing over and over.
The kettlebell is def something I have been looking into, they arent bad in price.
I also live in the upstairs of an apt, with a not so nice lady downstairs, so I can be limited as well.
I def will look at the highschool, I live pretty close to one.

I do pilates at home- you use your own weight for resistance so no equipment necessary, and you can find all sorts of how-tos online (You Tube has a ton of videos).
