I am going from carbs to protiens for breakfast. I'm in need of some filling protien ideas for breakfast or a mixture of the two. I run a home daycare and I eat around 630-700am and usually have 1 snack mid morning and then we eat lunch between 1130-noon. I would love to hear ideas.

I love eggs and bacon for breakfast. Great taste and great protein.0

I love veggie egg beaters w/ some low fat cheese or whole grain english muffin w/ peanut butter. I've been trying protein shakes and I like them as well. 100 calorie pack almonds are good snacks too!0

Plain greek yogurt(add granola or honey) and then 2 eggs0

Shakeology! My favorite breakfast!!0

I had an egg fried w/ Pam this morning and a Morning Star breakfast patty (meat free sausage...very good, tho I do prefer Boca more). I LOVE to scramble an egg, chop up a MS patty and wrap it up in a Ole whole wheat wrap (71 cals) and top it w/ salsa and sometimes even a bit of cheese. SO good!!
These are another I love to make.

I make a simple smoothie consisting of skim milk, nonfat plain yogart and whey protein powder. You can add a frozen banana, other frozen fruit, ground flaxseed meal, or small amount of peanut butter.0

EGGS, or what I do is lots and lots of egg whites. I make omlettes, wraps, no crust quiches. They're versatile.
Greek yogurt also has a lot of protein and is dessert like. I like to mix in fresh blueberries and a little low fat granola.
Protein shakes are one way to do a quick fix. I throw in whey or vegetable protein powder with fruit, almond milk or coconut milk, mix it up. If you can afford the calories throw in almond or peanut butter...yum.
If you want to do a healthier carb and protein breakfast you could do quinoa breakfast cereal. It's carbs but whole grain, high in fiber and higher in protein than most other carbs/grains.0 -
Make ahead mini quiche or frittata. Make them with egg beaters or eggs and what ever veggies on hand. I use a muffin tin and freeze enough for a week. Just pop them in the microwave and have a quick tasty breakfast0

If you plan to maintain carbs , they should be eaten during your breakfast or lunch. Don't eat carbs without protein. Having said that, here are some suggestions to have for breakfast to add to your carb (oat bran, high fiber toast, etc): smoked salmon, smoked oysters, fresh salmon grilled from the night before, chicken, turkey bacon (low fat), high protein greek yoguart, shrimp, turkey ham, fish fillets, egg whites (can mix with one yoke)................Ummmmm good to all of the above.0

Eggs, egg whites, cottage cheese which is lower carb too, peanutbutter with oatmeal or on bread, turkey bacon, ham, protein shakes/bars, yogurt, nuts added to cereal, cow and soy milk are excellent protein sources but not almond milk, adding cheese to anything. Other choices like deli meats, tuna, and beans get into lunch items. HTH!0

I usually do greek yogurt and some raw nuts (almonds are my fave). Also, as mentioned, eggs are a great choice.0

I do a protein shake made with milk and a serving of fruit. Blend that all up and it's nommy and stays with me for like 5 hours!0

Turkey sausage, baby spinach; warm them up in a saucepan. Add egg beaters and fat-free feta cheese, and sometimes I chop up some tomato. Cook and eat, and you're full for most of the morning and it's low-carb. I have this pretty much every day. You can also stick all of the ingredients in a bowl and microwave a few minutes, and they're done. Sometimes when I have to leave the house early in the morning, I'll put all ingredients in a bowl the night before and leave in the fridge. Zap it in the morning and in a few minutes you have a cooked, filling, delicious breakfast!0
