Too Much Protein?

So I recently joined a gym and have personal training/diet counseling sessions once per week. My trainer gave me a "cheat sheet" about how I should be picking food for my meals ... she wants me eating 4-5 mini meals (which I actually really like!). My question is...I've been going over in protein in my macros for the past few days I've been trying her method. I'm staying between 1350-1500 calories, which is what I'm aiming for. Is it okay to be a little protein heavy??? Obviously my trainer thinks that's perfectly fine...but I wanted some other opinions. I strength train 4 days/week. Thanks!!

going over the protein limit is fine. Your body will just get rid of it.
Doing weight training is great, especially with lots of protein, This is a sure way to get some big / toned muscles. and protein also helps repair the muscles after a heavy workout.
As long as your within the calorie limit, dont worry, too much protein is way better than not enough protein !!0 -
I'm not an expert but I think with the strength training it's ok. I average about 120 to 140 grams of protein a day as well. No problems here (so far). Good luck!0

Protein is essential for muscle repair, so if you're strength training then lots of protein is good, say 100-150g per day.
The default settings on MFP are very low - you can adjust them via custom settings of you like.0 -
Nothing wrong with going over on protein as long as it isn't pushing you way over on cals.
Your body doesn't just "get rid of" protein. If it's excess, it will be stored as fat.
I'd encourage you to get plenty of protein, but just make sure you aren't too low on your other macros. Fat is essential.0 -
I think with plenty of strength training you will be fine going over on protein0

Will do when I get home!! It's pretty easy...just pick one from each column0 -
you can never have too much protein!!! haha! as long as you're getting your other nurtrients too! :-)0

any amount of protein over 100g gets flushed out... what doctor told wifey. I don't think you need over 75g - and that is a lot0

Agree! I want to see the cheat sheet! Getting more ideas and suggestions is never a bad idea!0
