Tracking strength training?

I added some strength training exercises yesterday, but it didn't show how many calories burned, or add to my calories burned for the day. Does this site not calculate for strength training, or did I do something wrong? Thanks in advance.

You did nothing wrong. A majority of my fitness is strength these days since I met my goal weight and plan on toning more. I find it odd but I suppose you could wear your HRM and input the cals burned.

I always plan on doing this but at 5am I forget! :-(

The site doesn't add calories for strength training. If you want, there's a strength training cardio entry that you can use to get the calorie burn added in.

That's what I do! Type in "strengh training" as a cardio entry and then enter the amount of time you lifted for..it will then roughly calculate the calories you burned.

I typed in the cardio section the key word "weight" and it showed weight training in the cardio section and calcuated cals burned.

Journaling in the strength training section does not calculate cals. burned.

It's almost impossible to calculate calories burned from strength training. Too many variables, different resting periods, HRM's are wholly inaccurate for tracking it, the after burn, it's not something that can easily be done. If you search "Strength training" under cardio you can get a rough estimate, but it would be impossible to get an accurate number.

either log it as cardio (depending on how intensely you workout)
    or wear a HRM
  • Thanks everyone, I will look into getting an HRM.
