Product features on Amazon says water resistant to 50 metres :)
  • my polar ft40 says in the manual that it is suitable for use in the pool, although it does recommend you dont press the buttons while underwater lol

I have the Ft4 and it works great for swimming. I am 99% sure the FT7 will be the same

I used mine yesterday while swimming. MFP calculates 60 min breaststroke at over 1000 cals- my HRM recorded 220!! it is safe to use in the water, but don't press any buttons underwater. Also it helps to wear a very tight fitting swimming costume,as the chest strap tends to lose contact with your skin in water.
  • Thanks everyone! That's really helpful! Knew I could count on my MFP family! ;-)
