I'm wondering if some of you lovely people can help me.

We order mexican food for dinner tonight, and I stuck with a burrito. The place we ordered from is a little mom and pop shop and is super fresh with their ingredients. I tried to match up the items in the burrito and got around 1,500 calories for the burrito. I'm having a really, really hard time wrapping my head around that! Here's what I ordered, exactly:

Grilled chicken burrito, wheat tortilla, black beans, no cheese, light guacamole, crema (sour cream), pica de gallo (freh salsa -- tomatoes, onions, cilantro, etc.)

Does anyone have an estimate that they know of from a small taqueria that isn't a chain?

Thanks for all your help!

without knowing the ounces of chicken, beans and cream anything would be a total guess...but a normal size burrito I would guess.... 5-6 ounces of chicken which without the skin and not fried would be about 250-300...beans if not refried about 400 cream about 300-500....the other stuff.....I would say 1500 is high and about 900 -1200 would be safe depending on the amount of guacamole and the size of the tortilla

Today I made my own burritos and froze them. Each one had 337 cals. I used Smart & delicious tortillas, 80g pinto beans, 70g brown rice (less than one cup each), and half a slice of cheese. the calories add up pretty quickly.

The chicken was about 5-6 oz., the sour cream was probably about 2-3 tablespoons, the guac was probably 3-4 tablespoons, beans weren't refried (jt regular whole black beans), the rice was probably between 1-1.5 cups and the tortilla was large wheat burrito size.

    Thanks for your help!

Is that what you got when you put the ingredients separately in your food diary? I did the same with a burrito from Qdoba and got like 1000 calories but it had cheese and corn salsa plus their BBQ sauce.
