At it again...hopefully for the last time...

Hello, I am Martha from North Dakota. Although I have never been skinny, I was close to my goal weight once. Of course I let my stuff I had going on get in the way, instead of working time for me in, but not anymore. I am going to make it to my goal no matter how long it takes and no matter what bumps are in the road.

I want it for me, which is something that I don't think I really thought about before. It was always, lose weight for a guy or a event. Now it is for me, and I really think I am going to make it. I even have kept my first loss a secret. I didn't even tell my husband. I will wait and see what I look like in a few more weeks, and then wait for people to ask. Then I will know that all my hard work is showing, and I did it for me.

So I am here, and I like the program. If you need a buddy to bounce ideas off of, or need recipes. I am good for both.

    Hi and welcome Martha! All I can say is that if you are honest with yourself and honest with this process and are really dedicated to changing your life for good, this WILL be the last time...I really believe that this is my first and only serious shot at weight loss, and I am GOING to do it! Best wishes for all of your fitness goals!

    Hi Martha, and welcome to THE best site on the web!
    Between the easy to use food counter (which by the way is SUCH an eye opener!) and all the wonderfully supportive members, you WILL be able to lose the weight that you want to, AND, it'll "almost" be easy doing it!
    I recommend logging ALL your foods BEFORE you have them, rather than later, as it tends to lead to better food choices. (not to mention you'll know if you've got enough numbers left to have a night time snack, like I ALWAYS try to do!) Some people also like to weigh and measure some things, such as meats, rather than just estimating and possibly being WAY off!
    Also, drink lots of water, that seems to help alot too. :drinker:

    You are so right on the money. Doing it for yourself is the way to go!! Im doing the same :)

    Welcome to MFP! Everyone here is VERY nice! If you have any questions about who, what, how... feel free to ask on the forum. You will learn alot from people who have been there, done it and are doing it now :)

    Hi, welcome to MFP. I am kinda new too, been here since December 31st, but didn't officially start until New Years Day. Good luck on your weight loss journey. I love this site, and I just know that you will too.
