Yeah, I saw a young guy with a sign out front of McDonalds a few years back. Bought him a BLT bagel, he then proceeded to tell me he doesn't like bagels!!!!! That killed my charity....

No, seriously, it can't be easy to be homeless. If I give, I give cash so they can choose to spend it on what is most important to them. Them. Not me. I do what I can and hope for the best. Even if it is a pint of MD 20/20 or a pack of smokes, I can only hope I helped make that person's day brighter.

Just today I gave a homeless man all of our left over lunch. There was a whole salad, a cup of soup and some mac n cheese. He was extremely grateful and thanked me a bunch. Point is... there are asshats out there but keep doing good things. Dont let it discourage you. :flowerforyou:

I once ran into a parent of one of my students outside a local grocery store asking for money. I live 20 km away from the school in another district. I know she drives a Prius, goes on holidays to Europe, and her grade 8 son has an iPhone. Here I am on a budget, I can't afford a cell phone or cable, and she's begging!
