NSV- Running. :)

So let me start by saying I have had surgery on both my knees and have chronic bursitis in both of my hips. Obviously this has presented a multitude of problems during my weight loss journey. But I have been working really hard on regaining the ability to run. (I used to be a soccer player before the knee issues). At first I thought I would be doomed to the elliptical forever. But since we got a treadmill in the house in May, I started off running 1 minute, walking 5, run a minute, walk 5. Then I would up the running intervals to 2, 3, sometime 4 minutes on rare occasions.
Tonight, for the first time since I don't even remember when, I was able to keep running for 10 minutes straight with no walk breaks. That may not seem like much for you usual runners, but I can't believe I was able to do it. I may be sore tomorrow, but the feeling I had when the timer showed 10 minutes was amazing! I am hoping I can keep improving, strengthen my knees and my hips, and be able to run even more.
Thanks friends for listening. I just had to share!

That is awesome!!! Getting to the point of running 10 minutes straight is a big deal for anyone, let alone someone with bionic knees! And I really believe that as you strengthen your muscles, it'll ease the strain on your joints. Great job! :flowerforyou:0

That is fantastic! I think the first 10 minutes of running are the suckiest part of running anyway! On a good day I can go about 35 minutes without stopping but at about minute 8 I'm usually about to call it quits everyday:)0
