I'm trying to get my motivation muscle working.....

Hey there! I'm a sophomore at the University of Montana this year and heard of MFP through word of mouth. I figured I really had nothing to lose (except for possibly some unwanted weight) by switching things up and trying an online program such as this. I have to admit, I'm pretty skeptical. The LAST thing I need is one more excuse to sit down with my computer on my lap, but on the flip side, I've never been a part of so many people uniting for the common goal of a healthier life, so i'm also tentatively optimistic.

I've never really had success with weight loss in the past mostly because I've always been just a little on the "heavier" side, never been truly overweight......until recently. Two years ago I quit playing sports so that I could focus on work and saving for college. This sudden lack of exercise plus the stress of school did me in and finally pushed me over the edge into the "overweight" category....... I've decided this label, this lifestyle is no longer ok with me. So that's what brought me here. Hoping that there really is strength in numbers and motivation in the masses. Let's do this thing!!
