Today, my dad and I are getting some compost - yeah! My yard will be happy. I guess I'm going to have to break down and water as well. We haven't seen rain for two weeks and none is forecast. Sigh. Nice and warm though.

I might have picked up a bunch of yoga teaching jobs for Feb & March - about 2x a week for a month. I should find out later today. That will make getting my 3x a week yoga in easy.

Yesterday, I walked/jogged and went to yoga. Today is elliptical/walk/jog and moving dirt. I figure if I'm sore tomorrow or tired tonight, it counts as weights.

Oh, question for the beginning joggers out there - I have to warm up on the elliptical in order to jog (walking is just too easy for me) - any one else experience this?

Happy Workouts!

Mary

Good morning! Hope everyone is doing well today! I'm making a break from my poor snacking yesterday (yes, I did eat even MORE crap after the cookie incident!) Hope to end the day with plenty of calories left over to partially make up for my loss of control. I've got my workout clothes on and plan at least a few hours on the bike (broken up over a number of sessions as needed to care for my kids). I might get to the treadmill but I have a REALLY tight muscle in my calf and am debating resting it or not. Anyway, I ordered a Reebok Precision Trainer XT Heart Rate Monitor w/Chest Strap today. I know it's not the one everyone is talking about but it had okay reviews and was in my price range for one to start with. Anyone else have this one? Looking forward to using it to maximize my exercising.

Enjoy the outside time, Mary! It's supposed to be 55 here today so I think the boys and I will go out to play for a little while at least. Especially since it's supposed to snow again later in the week.

    +++POSITIVE THOUGHTS+++!!!

    Morning!
Mary, I don't know about the jogging question. I don't jog, except to wii.
Niccole, I don't know about HRM's either. I'm just not much help this morning! lol
Alex had his tumbling class this morning. At least he didn't lay like a dead dog this time. His instructor is really nice. When I told her he was pretty reserved, she said it was no big deal. I noticed she worked with him a little more today.
Today is the coolest day of the week. Or at least the first part of the week. We'll be in the 80's again on Thursday. I am going to try to get some yard work done then and maybe work on the car. Dunno.
I am going to try to do Taebo today and maybe get some more painting done. Other than that probably nothing. I'm kind of tired from lack of sleep.
    So:
    water
    taebo stay in calories
    Have a good Tuesday!

    Uh-oh. . .sick.

I'm having lady problems/a cold today. So, I think that I'm going to take a day off. I ended up taking an hour long walk yesterday. I'll still hit my weekly goals if this is the last day off this week. . .

    Take care of yourselves!

Oh, and Mary. . .I find that I need to put some pretty serious incline on the treadmill to get my HR up just walking. When I do my run/walk intervals, once it's up it stays in a workout-proper zone. . .but the initial warm up is tricky without the incline. . .

Oops! I wrote a long post at work but apparently forgot to post it. If it is still on my screen tomorrow I will copy it into tomorrow's thread. Basically I was just explaining why you probably won't be seeing me on the boards much for the next month, as I am in high-gear project mode.

Niccole, I got that HRM for my dad for his birthday and he seems to be enjoying it. I have a Polar myself because I happened to find a really good deal on it, but I got the Reebok for him because it was much more affordable (and I didn't know if he'd like it anyway). The Reeboks are compatible with the gym equipment that says 'Polar ready', so that is convenient.

I just walk for a while (maybe 3-3.5mph) to warm up before jogging - not that I've done any jogging for a couple months. I don't really worry about my HR for the warm-up, just getting my muscles warm enough that I don't feel like I might pull something once I start running. Mary - love the new cat pic!! V - hope you feel better.

Argh, I need to get to work! Have a good night! :flowerforyou:
