Does anyone do bodybalance classes?
Its mixtue of yoga tai chi and pilates, and im thinking about giving it a go.
I do body combat and really enjoy it, but it a high impact class and im looking to do something else as well to help me relax a bit. I am pretty wound up a lot of the time cos i am so busy!
I was wondering, if anyone has done it, do you need to be quite good at yoga/pilates etc to do it....i am a novice!

I DO and I love it! I do a class called Body Flow by Les Mills which I think they call Body Balance outside of the US? I also do Combat and yes Flow is a much different work out. It is super relaxing but I get a work out during it - I usually burn about 230 calories and it definitely helps with flexibility. It is defnitely a multi-level class and a good instructor will encourage you to work at your own pace.0

Yes I do them, I love it.
I am the most uncoordinated, unflexible person and I have no balance. Basically I laugh my way though it.
The first couple of times you'll find it a bit of a struggle - well I did, but stick with it because it gets easier and it's great compliment to what ever you are doing.
There are a couple of groups of movements you do.
1. Warm up - tai chi - it's fun
2. Sun salutations - my blood pressure couldn't handle all the ups and downs.
3. Standing Strength - basically sun warriers and lunges - not to hard and you really notice the difference to how you stand afterwards
4. Balance - this is just a laugh for me - it's fun and it's great because when you are trying not to fall over everything else in your head just goes and all you think about is balancing.
5. Hip Openers - my favourite it hurts but it feels good.
6.Core stomach - pilates and I always find it too hard for me
7 Core Back - to balance the core stomach not as hard for me
8 Twists starting to cool down.
9 it's something to do with back of legs
10 meditation
Don't try it once - try it about 4 times before you decide if you like it.0 -

yes its a les mills class so it must be the same, i didnt expect it would be a big calorie burner, so that is great too. really wanting a relaxing class, so yeah it sounds like what i am looking for.
Thanks for your reply : )0 -

this is great advice , thank you. i think i will struggle most with the pilates core work hardest, because i have stuggled holding positions in beginner pilates classes before....but its somoething that i think i will benefit from improving! : )0 -
I do this class too - it does take a while to get used to the various positions, but stick at it and they get easier.
Definitely great for feeling "centred" and relaxed.0 -
