1 year and 83lbs later... Before and After pics

Well today is the one year anniversary of me signing up here... This time last year I was really at my wits end... depressed and miserable. I was just finishing up my first season of coaching football and was jealous of the other fathers running around and playing like maniacs with the kids as I just stood there and watched since I could not run more then 15 steps without being winded.
I was just about ready to try weight watchers again when a random person in a meeting handed me a slip of paper that said myfitnesspal.com. I was taken back at first.. this guy who I hardly know thinks I am so fat he is giving me a diet website! I did not even look into it for a week... that paper sat in my desk taunting me. Finally I checked it out... 365 days ago today.
MFP has been GREAT for me...It truly has. Not only does it keep me in line with tracking my eating and exercising but I have made some amazing friends. Friends who are there to help you when you are having a bad day... friends who know the right things to say to keep you motivated....friends who push and challenge my limits and hold me accountable...and of course all my dirty minded fun friends! I can not leave out a couple of instrumental friends who I am no longer close with.. they really helped drive me more then they realize.
So here are some pics
Here is my Start.... End of last football season.. that damn shirt was so tight I could hardly squeeze into XXXL
Here I am wearing that shirt in the Spring
Here I am this past weekend with my youngest son.. in my new XL coaching shirt
Me and both boys
No for the embarassing pictures... that I really was not sure i would post.. but I think it shows a lot.
I have been following the workouts that are in the New Rules of Lifting... it is a workout book that was recommended to me by a good friend. In brief it focuses on different ways of strength training revolving around a few basic concepts... basically a lot of squats, lunges, pushes (Bench press, shoulder presses) pulls (Pull downs, rows) and twists... I did not start the workouts until November so I am coming up to the last phase now.... and I never took a real "Before pic"
First this is me in January
February
Here I am in March
July... finally starting to see differences
The start of Sept
These two were last night....
Then here is one last picture... for my running. I started this summer with the goal of running the Tunnel to Towers Race in NYC... This is my sister me and a good friend... I did better then I ever thought I could. In a couple of weeks I am running another 5k this one should be much faster
So today I am 233 lbs... and looking to take off still another 33.... i know my MFP family will help get me there!
